About

Company Background

KorvaLabs is an accredited clinical (CLIA), analytical and research laboratory. KorvaLabs is a mass spectrometry laboratory and its primary competencies are divided into four (4) categories – CLINICAL, ANTI-DOPING, RESEARCH and SPECIALTY TESTING.

KorvaLabs has been inspected and accredited by the State of California – California Department of Public Health (See State License) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) (See CLIA License), as well as the Drug Enforcement Agency (See DEA License) and currently holds licenses from all three (3) agencies.

KorvaLabs was founded on our extensive experience in applying mass spectrometry to the sports anti-doping world. Sports anti-doping is always challenging due to the unusually low concentrations of target analytes commonly found in a variety of matrices. We provide a wide array of anti-doping services to clients worldwide, including full-service sport anti-doping programs, as well as research and consultation. We, or our principals, have worked with or for entities such as UCI, IAAF, ITF, PGA, as well as numerous Pro Cycling Tour Teams, the NFLPA, MLBPA, UFC and many more.

We bring 25+ years of professional sport anti-doping experience to the clinical world and we offer a wide variety of testing options to accommodate our clients. After successfully applying sophisticated in-house developed mass spectrometry techniques to both the anti-doping and clinical field, we are now applying these concept to numerous applications across the chemical and biological sciences.

KorvaLabs is located in the city of San Dimas, CA and is housed in an 14,000 square foot ISO 9001:2015 clean room accredited building with plenty of extra space for expansion and additional infrastructure. We have developed relationships with several educational institutions, including Caltech, UCLA, KGI, Cal State LA to name a few. KorvaLabs is the analytical laboratory used by Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) for the pre-detection of designer opiates for law enforcement. We are also working with Cal State LA, in association with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles Police Department Crime Labs for the full metabolic pathway analysis of THC.

At the end of 2018, we will be launching a mass spectrometry class for high school and college students as well as professionals and a specialized course for Cal State LA’s School of Criminal Justice and Criminalistics. Students will obtain unprecedented training on sample preparation, on the inner workings of a mass spectrometer, including the maintenance of the instrument and its many parts.
